Orange Beach, AL
We have spent the last several days here at the Terry Cove RV Resort, an ownership park, in Orange Beach, AL. Each space has a screened in gazebo and a storage building. The owner has some descretion on what they do with the storage building but all of the gazebo's are identical. Some of the buildings are converted into guest rooms, some a laundry room, and some a combination of uses. The owners are not allowed to construct anything else on the property and they may not stay on the property for more than six months continuously. After leaving for a night they may return for another six months. At about $140K (+/-) they seem somewhat overpriced.
Mike, Patty, and I played golf at the Gulf State Park Golf Course on Tuesday and it was pretty good. The layout was okay but the conditions were less than perfect. I broke even with Patty and lost $8 to Mike. I will now get 7 strokes next time so I should be the victor if I keep my cool and improve my putting. I bought some Precept Laddie Extreme golf balls yesterday so I should be ready for our next outing. Tomorrow I will go fishing on the Outcast, a 65 foot boat that seems to specialize in bottom fishing for Red Snapper, Grouper, and Amber jack. Hopefully we will have a fish fry tomorrow evening.
On Wednesday we will get the awning replaced and then on Thursday we head for Lafayette, LA for a Cajun experience. On Wednesday we have also scheduled Alex for another grooming and a shorter cut. She has recovered remarkably from the surgery in Birmingham. The vets there did a great job and should be commended.
On Sunday we will move to a park, that is actually in Florida, called Playa del Rio RV Park and Yacht Club. It is on the Perdido Key and is right on the bay side of the key. It is a small park but has a great water view and nice facilities on the water for all visitors. We will stay there for three nights and then head back to Gulf Breeze RV Resort while I get the awning replaced and we get ready to head back east a bit. I will post a couple of pictures from the resort here and hopefully some pictures and a story or two from the fishing trip tomorrow on another day. Until then be safe.
