The Trip Continues
Well in the past few days we have stopped at the World Golf Hall of Fame (WGHF) in St. Augustine, Florida, spent two nights in Savannah, Georgia, and today, Wednesday, traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As I write this message I can look out the window and see the Atlantic Ocean and hear the surf. We have great spots right by the dunes and we hope to enjoy our four night here.
We enjoyed our visit to the WGHF. The exhibits were very special and the number of personal mementoes displayed really made the viewing interesting. Our RV Resort was right on the ocean and we were able to walk on the beach and enjoy the surf. They even allowed dogs on the beach so the puppies all had a great walk. We drove around the St. Augustine area and saw the Fountain of Youth and many interesting sights along the water.
We spent two nights in Savannah at a nice RV park a few miles from the Historic District. Tippy and I took the Grand Historic Tour on Tuesday and then met the other folks at Lady & Sons for lunch. We picked up a beeper at 11:30 and were seated at 12:50, which was just what they had predicted. The meal was well worth the wait and everyone truly enjoyed his or her meal. We shared two orders of fried green tomatoes, delicious, and then Jerry and I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which was unbelievable while Mike, Patty and Jackie had the Meatloaf Sandwich. Tippy had the buffet and enjoyed chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. We stopped at a Wal-Mart Supercenter for some groceries on the way home and everyone ate in this evening.
Today, Wednesday, we had some work done on the coach at a RV center in Savannah and then drove to Myrtle Beach. Mike and Patty had to stay in Savannah for some work on their coach because a part didn’t come in until later in the afternoon. They will join us here tomorrow and we will try to play golf on Friday. I will post several pictures from the past few days so enjoy them and be safe. More from here before we head to Pinehurst for the U.S. Open, be safe.
