Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

St. Louis

We arrived in St. Louis as scheduled on Saturday, July 2nd, after a nice ride from Paducah, KY. We had invited our friends Bart and Dee to join us and John and Christine for a cookout that evening and it was great to see all of them again. The cookout went fine and I was able to catch up a little with Bart and John. On Sunday we just relaxed at the RV Park after Tippy attended Mass in the morning. She also did some laundry in the afternoon, where does it all come from, and we watched the end of the Western Open on TV.

After the golf was over we walked over to the Beefeater Pub & Grill for a drink and some appetizers. Tippy had wings and I had onion petals that were delicious with a spicy dipping sauce. We enjoyed some TV and fireworks before retiring for the evening. On a sad note we got a call from Mike and Patty and their coach had been broken into while they were out to dinner. The thieves took Patty's computer and they ripped the safe right out of the floor and took it with them. Fortunately they didn't have any money in the safe but they did have some papers that will be hard to replace. It appears everyone around their coach was gone to the Grand Ole Opry during the break-in.

Tomorrow I will play golf with Bart and a couple of his friends. We will play at the Winghaven C.C. which is a Jack Nicklaus design course a short distance from here. John and Christine will join us for dinner at the local Outback. This will give us a chance to see them one more time before we depart for the Public Links Championship on Wednesday. Today we drove over to John and Christine's home and were very impressed with the progress they have made in the past two years. You can see the pictures of the two 2nd floor bedrooms that they had just begun to redo when we were here in 2003. The house is truly impressive and the finished product should be outstanding. They have decided to redo the roof and add central air conditioning to the home this summer. It will be an expensive project but it will certainly increase the value of their home and make it much more comfortable for them during the warm summers.

Christine and John did dinner over here tonight. John grilled a pork loin and Christine made a salad, macaroni and cheese with spinach, and a wonderful peach cobbler type of desert which we enjoyed with a big scoop of icecream on top. We chatted for a while, watched the fireworks from New York, and then they headed home until we see them tomprrow night. Enjoy the pictures and be safe.
