Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Flagstaff, AZ

After a great week of seeing family and getting some medical things completed we departed Las Vegas on Thursday for Flagstaff, AZ. We have been working with a couple of real estate agents in Texas, at different lakes, to help us find the house we are looking for. It is still pretty hot there so we have holed up here in Flagstaff for a week to give it a chance to cool down a little. The temps have been in the 70's here and much cooler at night. I was snuggled down in the covers this morning trying to get a few extra winks but Alex wouldn't hear of it. When she is up everyone is up and she's not happy until that happens.

We are staying at the J & H RV Park and it is very nice. They have a potluck dinner scheduled for this evening and since we are staying for a week we are able to borrow DVD's without a rental fee. They also have a dog run where the dogs can be off their leash and Alex enjoys playing in this area.

We have made reservations to take the train from Williams, Az to the Grand Canyon on Wednesday. We will ride in an observation dome car, take a 1.5 hour bus tour at the canyon with a box lunch, have another 1.5 hours to wander around the villlage area, and then board the train for the ride back to Williams. It sounds like a pleasant day and since we haven't been to the Grand Canyon in many years we decided to make this trip. Hopefully we will have a nice day so we can really enjoy the trip. The folks at the RV park will take care of Alex so we won't have to worry about her being alone all day inside the coach.

We continue to enjoy our new coach. Everything is working fine and as we continue to organize stuff inside and out we get more comfortable since we are able to find things much easier. We have had several folks stop by and admire the look of the coach which only reinforces our own feelings. We have a guy coming on Tuesday to fix the electric step at the door which is currently the only problem we have. I will post some pictures from the Grand Canyon next week so until then be safe.

BTW, I found a neat new program called Google Earth. It is like a spy satellite that allows you to zoom in on any spot you would like to see. I was just looking at our old home in Henderson and you could see a lot of detail. Give it a try, it is free. Just go to Google.com and look around a bit and you should find it or just do a search for Google Earth. Have fun.
