Hot Springs, Arkansas

We arrived in Hot Springs yesterday afternoon after a short 125 mile drive from Texarkana. The drive was very nice, at least after we got off the interstate. We took highway 270 from I-30 to Hot Springs. We drove around a bit yesterday to get the lay of the land and made a stop at Walmart to get a few things. Tippy went to Mass this morning and then fixed us panini pork sandwiches when she returned home, mmmm good! We drove downtown today to see the old part of the town and Bathhouse Row that now has only one operational bathhouse open.

The only bathhouse still open is the Buckstaff which has been open since 1912. You can get a Traditional Bathing Package which includes a whirlpool mineral bath, loofa mitt, and a 20 minute full body massage all for $50. For an additional $10 you can add a parafin treatment for your hands and call it the Deluxe Bathing Package. If we were here for another day we would have partaken.

We are going to Outback for dinner tonight and then off to Fayetteville to see Junella tomorrow. We will drive on highway 270 West, highway 71, and then on I-540. The folks here at the park say it is a wonderful drive with some spectacular views. We will keep the camera handy so we don't miss a photo opp. Enjoy todays pictures, be safe, and stop back again.
