On the Road Again!!!

We hit the road Sunday for our summer trip of 2008. We had an enjoyable drive to Goodlett, TX and arrived in time to record the last round of the open so we could view it later. I just can't stand the number and length of commercials on TV anymore. We always record the shows we want to see and watch them later when we can speed through the commercials. We enjoyed the final round of the Open and were pleased to see Tiger and Rocco survive the other 154 players. I think Rocco really showed his medal by taking Tiger to 18 extra holes and then to one more before Tiger could best him. These will be memories Rocco will never forget and I am sure he will think of several places where he could have saved a shot during the first 72 holes and again in the 18 playoff holes. But He did take Tiger further than anyone else has ever done.

Anyhow we enjoyed the golf and then Tippy made a great pasta dinner with a salad and garlic bread, hmmmm good. We had a bit of a storm but nothing too serious but in our drive on Monday we saw much damage to the town of Childress which is only about 30 miles down the road from Goodlett. Signs and trees were blown over and there were leaves literally covering the highway as we drove through town. We continued on to Tucumcari, NM and got to bed early with the time change and all.

Today we had a short 125 mile drive to Las Vegas, NM where we are staying in the KOA. We have a nice spot with a great view of a valley. We made a pilgrimage to the local Wal-mart and drove around town a bit before settling in for the evening. We will stay here for three days to the enjoy the mountain climate, nice little rain as I am writing this at 3:55 Mountain Time. I think we are going out to dinner tonight but I am not sure. That is usually Tippy's call. We will head for Colorado City, CO on Friday so more from there. Be safe.
