Bismarck, North Dakota
We arrived safely in Bismarck after a rather nice drive from Glendive, MT. We were on I-94 but the scenery was quite nice as we went from the mountains of eastern Montana to the hills of western North Dakota. We certainly have seen our fill of hay fields and wheat fields!! The fields go on forever and the ranches must encompass thousands of acres.
This will be our first overnight in North Dakota and completes our map of the U.S., except for Hawaii. We are still waiting for that bridge to be built and then we will add the 50th state to our map as well. You can see the picture of us at the border and a second one as we celebrate putting the final state sticker on our map.
We had a nice rainstorm last evening and this morning. I was scheduled to play golf this afternoon at Hawktree G.C. but wasn’t sure if the weather would permit. Tippy and I did a little shopping and had lunch at Schlotsky’s. I drove over to the course half expecting to head right back to the coach but when I got there the weather started to improve. They had a shotgun event just finishing up from the morning and I was the first one off after the tournament. I was able to play in two hours and really enjoyed the course. I played so quickly I neglected to get any pictures but the overcast day wouldn’t have helped get good shots anyhow.
More tomorrow from Minot. Enjoy the pics and be safe.
Tomorrow we drive a short 110 miles to Minot where I will play golf with my friend Wes Plummer.
