Greenwood to Saint Joseph, Mo to Columbia, MO
On Sunday we traveled from Greenwood to Saint Joseph, MO. Due to the closures on I-29 we stuck to the "red roads," and even threw in a gray road for good measure. We had a wonderful drive through the farmlands with very little traffic until we reached highway 75 which was the major north/south detour for I-29. The traffic wasn't terrible but was heavier than the two cars we saw in our first 45 miles. The park in Saint Joseph was a 5W rated park but truly should have been rated a 2W or 3W park at best. But i9t was just for overnight so we survived just fine. On Monday we drove to Columbia, MO and used I-29 so we could control the rest stops a little better. The park here in Columbia, Cottonwoods, is another 5W park and it could be a 6W park if the rating went that high. We have a nice site and had no neighbors until today. Something about a big Missouri football game this weekend is starting to fill the park.
I played golf yesterday at The Club at Old Hawthorne and had a good time until I started to feel poorly and decided to hang it up for the day. The course has zoysa grass fairways and Bent grass greens that had been recently aerated so they were a little bumpy. I enjoyed 8 holes before leaving and had seen enough to complete my Golf Digest evaluation.
Last night and today it was quite rainy so Tippy and I went to lunch, dropped off her broken Kindle to the UPS Store and took in a movie - Contagion. Pretty different and scary movie. Excellent cast and story that showed how fragile our food network really is. Tomorrow we are off to St. Louis to see John and his family and our good friends Bart & Dee Collida. Bart and I served on the APL Committee together for many years and he also came to Las Vegas on several occasions to assist me in conducting the Nevada Open Golf Championship. More from St. Louis, including pictures of our grand daughter that we haven't seen in almost two years. Be safe.
