Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

February has come and is now almost gone!

Wow, I really don't know what happens to the time. We have had a few things happening but I can't believe that it has been six weeks since I posted on the Blog. Those of you that take the time to read this must be pretty disappointed every time you stop by only to find nobody home. Well I will try to do better in the future. I have included some of my recent woodturning projects and will try to add a few more soon.

Unfortunately we had Tippy in the hospital for two days on the 19th and 20th of January. She went for a normal Dr. visit and he put her in the hospital because of low blood pressure and she seemed to be dehydrated from her bout with the flu that she had been dealing with. They filled her up with fluids, checked her oil, and sent her home after two nights of rest. Since then she has been doing very well and her PT is also gong great. She started to go to the PT location two days a week, this has been her second week, and that has helped her tremendously. We hope that she will graduate to a cane very soon, maybe even next week. She does a lot of walking in the sunroom and much of it with only one hand on the walker. She is able to get up into the motorhome, with very little help, and in and out of the car with me just taking care of the walker. When she switches to the cane she should be able to drive herself.

We attended an Alfa Rally in Canton, Texas the last weekend of January. This was timed to coincide with the Canton First Monday Trade Days which is an old event that used to occur on the first Monday of each month. Now it starts on the Thursday prior to the first Monday and runs through that Monday. They have acres and acres of vendors selling antiques, homemade items, furniture, food, jewelry, books, and what have you. We got a motorized cart for Tippy and it was all I could do to keep up with her, especially up the hills. We didn't get all over the area so we have an excuse to return another time. Tippy did buy about ten used books so she had some new stories to occupy her time.

We are planning a trip to Arlington to do some shopping and to se the kids the weekend of March 14th. We will go up on the 12th and shop in the afternoon and Friday morning and then see the kids on Friday night and hopefully again on Saturday. We don't know what activities the grand kids will be into then so we will have to wait and see. We do enjoy sharing their activities and seeing them in a different environment. From there we will drive east to Louisiana to have a couple of things done to the coach and then south to Kinder, LA for the spring Alfa Rally. We will get home on March 25 and have some time before we head out for our summer trip on June 6th. More news and pictures later. Be safe.
