Last Days in Montana
Sunday afternoon Tippy and I went to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center which is right here in West Yellowstone. They have a teaching program centered on these animals and the center is Not for Profit. We saw three Grizzlies, and several Wolves in what appeared to be great habitats. They bring out the grizzlies two or three at a time and previous to their appearance food has been placed among the fallen trees, mostly by children as part of the training program. When the bears are released from their dens they begin to search for the food so they are active within the habitat so we got good looks and good pictures as you can see above.
Monday was somewhat blustery and it was trying to rain. I got a haircut in the morning and then Tippy and I went to the Imax to see the movie Alaska. When we came out of the theatre it had rained and most of the clouds had departed. The rest of the day was quite wonderful! That night we went out for dinner at a nice little Italian restaurant on the edge of town. I had a Linguine Alfredo dish with chicken and Tippy had Manicotti. Both were delicious and the portions were just right. We also ordered Calamari, as we usually do in an Italian restaurant, and it was tougher than shoe leather! When the chef came out to receive her cudos we told her about the tough Calamari and they took it off our bill.
We are now on our way to Las Vegas with an overnight last night just south of Twin Falls, ID and a two night stay in Ely, NV before we get to Las Vegas on Friday. We are looking forward to seeing family and friends and know it will be a hectic week trying to get it all in. More later from Ely. Enjoy the pics and be safe.
