Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

July in Oregon

We continue to be blessed with great weather here in Lebanon, Oregon. We have some morning fog and high clouds, marine layer I guess, but by 11:00 it burns off and the rest of the day is bright and sunny and in the high 70’s, low 80’s recently.

They had a big golf event here yesterday so we dove to a course called Trysting Tree in Corvallis, OR and played there. We had a group of six so we played two groups of three. We tied on the team games but our team lost on the greenies and birdies so we had to pay up $5 each. The course was nice, in good condition, and pretty wide open so many of the guys really liked that aspect.

The party pictures above were from our Open Championship party where we presented the winners of our contest their prizes. Each person selected 10 players in the championship and they received points for how high they finished and If they missed the cut then no points. Patti won with 410 points, Roger was second with 400, and Mike was third with 396. Jerry was presented an award of $5 for being last with 216 points. Anyhow it was a good reason to have a party and some of the girls played Canasta after the awards were presented.

Tippy and I drove to Sweet Home, OR on Sunday after her Mass and had lunch at Los Dos Amigos restaurant. Tippy had a hankering for some Mexican food and we had gone there once last year. The food was only acceptable so we probably won’t return.

The entire group, 20 folks, went to Novac’s Restaurant in Albany last Saturday for a Hungarian dinner. Two of the group were celebrating birthdays and one couple knew a guy that had worked at the restaurant for many years and now works at Fuego in Las Vegas. The owner of the restaurant had been invited to the White House earlier in the year to be honored as an ethnic businessman that had been successful. The food was great and plentiful and I believe everyone went home full.

Tippy and Jerri went for pedicures this morning and Walt and I will meet them for lunch at Kevin’s in lebanon. They specialize in gigantic breakfasts and huge hamburgers fore lunch. It looks like we will be full again!

We really enjoy this resort and the area and have already signed up for July again next year. We also want to spend more time in North Dakota next summer and get back to St. Louis to see John’s family and our other friends. We don’t have the trip mapped out yet but the start will be similar to this year but with shorter stay in Montana.

I have included a couple of golf pictures, I promise to get more of Mallard Creek, and some from the party. Enjoy and be safe.
