Maryn's Arrival
We have taken a few days off to go to Arlington to be present for our second grand child's birth. Maryn Elizabeth Reid came into this world shortly after 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, weighing in at 6 lb 8 oz and 18.5 inches tall. She has been a wonderful baby that seems to love to eat, sleep, and look around her new world for a short time while she is awake. She has Rachel's black hair and lots of it. We were able to see her and hold her on Monday and again today, Tuesday. I also made a trip to their home to see Cole today and it was good to see him as he seems to grow an inch between each visit.
We will head home tomorrow and prepare for our first Thanksgiving alone, unless we find someone to invite in on short notice. We will return to spend some time with David, Rachel, and the grand kids when their home life gets settled and Rachel gets back to normal. Her mom will spend a couple of weeks, at least, as Rachel won't be able to lift Cole for at least a month and Maryn won't be exposed to the outside world for two months. David and Cole may make a trip or two to our home to give everyone a break while Rachel recuperates.
We want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and a happy Holiday Season if we don't get back to the Blog for a while. We got the RV pad finished and the electrician will be out next week to wire up the 50 amp connection. I finished painting the garage before we left and we now have all of our pictures up and all of the furniture in place, with the exception of the dining room outfit that is giving us a fit. We had it on order and it was originally scheduled to be delivered on October 7th. We then got an e-mail saying the delivery had been delayed until October 14th and then another delaying it until October 21st. At that point we canceled the order and were lucky (?) enough to find another company that sold the same product. I called them to see if the table and chairs were available and was told that they were. I ordered the table on the Internet, received notice that the order had been processed and sent to shipping. Shipping dates of November 4, 11, and 18 came and went without a shipping confirmation. On Friday, November 18th I informed the company that if the table didn't ship that day they were to cancel the order and refund my money. I haven't received any information since then and we have been gone since Sunday so I haven't been able to call them to find out the status. Oh well, it will show up sometime. In the meantime we are using a folding table with a nice tablecloth and we are doing just fine. Well I guess that is all for now but if you are going to be near Texas give us a visit.
