Stu & Tippy's Travels
This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Orlando, Florida
We had pretty poor Sprint service at the Great Outdoors RV-Nature, and Golf Resort so I haven't been able to update the Blog for a few days. The phone service would go from one small bar of power to no service to roam and then back again. If I held the phone up with one hand I could possibly download a short e-mail. Anyhow, we had a terrific time at the resort. We played golf one day; pretty cool course with lots of wildlife. We saw three baby Pelicans, about 5 Alligators, several Storks, and various turtles and other birds. Tippy and I also saw two deer as we returned from a shopping trip and the other guys saw a Panther as they left for dinner and a Bob Cat when they returned. The 2800 acres of the resort truly held much wildlife.
Monday morning Jackie made Beignet's, from our New Orleans experience, and they were delicious. After golf we all rested a bit before going out to dinner at the Dixie Crossroads restaurant that was recommended by our friend Ray. The food was tremendous and delicious! They specialize in Rock Shrimp that taste like Lobster and several other types of Shrimp in various sizes. Needless to say we were all full when we left and very pleased with the experience. On Tuesday Mike and Patty and Jackie and Jerry went to Cape Canaveral for a tour and really enjoyed themselves. It was raining when we got up and Tippy didn't feel like going so I stayed home with her and we just read and relaxed for the day.
Wednesday morning we were scheduled to leave for the long trip, 60 miles, to Fort Wilderness at Disney World. It was raining again, as it has for parts of the last several days, but we got packed up and headed west to Orlando. The spots we were assigned at Fort Wilderness were pretty tight for the big rigs but with some patience and assistance from each other we got them into place one at a time. That night we drove to the Boardwalk and enjoyed the sights and had dinner at the ESPN Club. They had so many TV monitors in there it would almost drive you crazy. There were even 8 monitors in the mens room! There must have been over 100 altogether but they played the sound, very loudly, from only one program. It was sometimes hard to find out which monitor was also using sound but eventually the two would come together. After dinner we walked down the boardwalk to get an ice cream cone and then watch the fireworks from Epcot Center. Both were enjoyable and then we tried to find our way back to our RV site in the dark, finally made it.
Today Mike and Patty and Jackie and Jerry have gone to Universal Studios in Orlando. Jackie did breakfast in a slight drizzle this morning before they left. I walked Duffer and Abbey around 3:00 and will walk them again around 7:00 if their folks are not back by then. Tomorrow we are going to Epcot and then to the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. I can't wait for the Pirates of the Carribean ride. I will post a few pictures from the past several days so enjoy and be safe.

Vero Beach departure
We will be leaving Vero Beach later today but wanted to post a short note about the great time we have had while in this area. We had a wonderful dinner at the Ocean Grill last evening. I had seared Ahi in a martini glass for an appetizer and Grouper Cajun style for my entree with a salad and stuffed potatoe for my sides. Tippy had two appetizers - pot stickers with a sweet and sour sauce and pepper flakes and french onion soup with cheese. Sandra had a macadamia nut covered red snapper and Ray had Coquille St. Jacque that smelled and tasted simply wonderful.
We will leave here when Tippy returns from Mass. We have a short ride, 60 miles, to the Great Outdoors RV, Nature, and Golf Resort where we will stay for three nights. We will play some golf, visit Cape Canaveral, and hopefully dine at the Dixie Crossing at least once. More later, be safe.
