Enjoying a beautiful evening on the Snake River

Hi All,

We have been enjoying ourselves the past few days here at the Granite Lake Premier RV Resort. I think you can tell from the pictures that our site is just tremendous!! Not only do we have a river view site - right on the river - but we also are shaded by the coach in the afternoon. But, the best part is that there is a Costco within walking distance of the park. We can actually see the store name from the back of our coach!

The RV Resort is located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers, both of which flow from south to north. With the addition of several dams and locks over many years the area is now a seaport. Barges and ships can get to this area directly from the ocean. We have seen several barges going up and down the river hauling containers, sawdust and other wood products. We have also enjoyed sitting out for cocktails in the evening and watching the traffic on the river. Steelhead season opened on Friday so there have been a large number of boats in the area fishing.

Tomorrow we will pack up and head to Coeur d'Alene where we will meet Jerry and Jackie for a few days. Jerry and I will attend an Orvis fly fishing workshop on Monday and Tuesday and then Jerry, Jackie, and I will play golf on Wednesday at the Coeur d'Alene Resort; the one with the floating green. On Thursday we will head for Flathead Lake and Polson, MT. We will spend three days there and then head for Gunnison, CO to meet our friend Jim Magette for some fishing and golfing. Tippy is slowly getting better, maybe 65% now, and we hope she will continue to improve.
