Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Wyoming, Montana, & Idaho

On the 22nd of June we left Colorado and drove to Cheyenne, Wyoming. The drive was all on Interstate 25 so it wasn't very exciting except for the large numbers of Antelope we continued to see along the highway. We did an overnight in Cheyenne at a nice KOA park and then continued on I-25 to Buffalo, WY which is located at the intersection of I-25 and I-90. The park here, Twin Creeks, was a former KOA park but they have gone independent this year. From Buffalo we switched to I-90 andf headed northwest into Montana and one of our favorite parks, the 1st KOA Park, in Billings. We had a very nice patio site there and stayed for three days. We did some shopping and I even went and hit a bucket of balls at a local golf course. Can you imagine, me practicing golf! From Billings we headed northwest again on Montana highway 3 for the drive to Great Falls. We like that town but only had time to stay two days this trip.

On the 29th of June we drove, mostly on Montana highway 200, from Great Falls to Missoula. Highway 200 is reported to be the longest of all of the state highways. The ride was very beautiful as you can see from the pictures and we didn't have any problems at all. We were scheduled to have the coach serviced at Freightliner in Missoula on the 30th, just an oil change, filters, and also had the generator serviced as well. They got done as scheduled and I picked up the coach at around noon. Since we had all of our business done and it was still early I decided to go and play golf at the new Canyon River course east of Missoula. I was very impressed with the course. The conditioning was excellent and the views very beautiful. Needless to say I had a great afternoon and even hit a few good shots on my way to an 82.

On July 1st we drove west on I-90 into Idaho. The drive over the mountains, through Lookout Pass as we entered Idaho, was spectacular! We stopped at a rest area just shy of the Montana/Idaho border and walked Alex, had lunch, and rested a bit ourselves before competing our drive to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. We have a great site her at The Blackwell Island RV Park. We have a large area of grass in front of our coach, along the entrance road, and we should have great seats for the fireworks show this evening. We have been to Wal-Mart three times already replacing things in the coach like the coffee maker, electric frying pan, small slow cooker, and some glasses, including some stemless wine glasses. I am going to try to get some fireworks picture tonight so if I am lucky I will post them tomorrow. Until then be safe and have a great 4th of July!
