Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Oops

Hi Ya'll,
I forgot to add a few details to my first message so will provide an addendum to todays post. First of all on our trip yesterday from Mesa to Willcox we ran into a swarm of insects on two seperate occasions. When they hit the front of the coach it sounded like someone had shot the coach with a high pressure hose, pretty scarry if you wern't paying attention.

Secondly on our drive today we were coming up on what looked like a travel trailer, but you couldn't see any vehicle pulling it. Finally as we passed it we could see that it was a Jayco pop-up travel trailer being pulled by, would you believe it, a Corvette. The trailer was taller and wider than the car so I don't know how they could see behind or to the side of the vehicle. This is the first time I have ever seen a Corvette towing anything - very strange.

Finally, and most importantly, my sister Penny called today to inform us that my Mom is having her appendix removed this afternoon. This is not a serious operation unless, like my Mom, you are approaching 92 years old. We would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts as we await the results of the surgery.

Be safe.

Heading Home

Hi Y'all,
We left Mesa and the Alfa national Rally yesterday, Wednesday. We decided to take a back way from Mesa so we headed east on Hwy 60 toward Globe, AZ. This route took us over the Pinal Mountains, about 4,000 feet and it was a wonderful drive. We caught Hwy 70 in Globe that took us east to Safford, AZ. From Safford we headed south on Hwy 191 to I-10 where we backtracked a bit to Wilcox where we stayed the night at the Magic Circle RV Park. It was a great evening and we enjoyed the coolness with the windows open while we watched a few TV shows.

Today we had an easy drive on I-10 from Wilcox, Az to Las Cruces, NM. This short drive of 190 miles was broken up with a rest area stop about half way to Las Cruces. Tippy made me a sandwich for lunch and the last bowl of the shrimp soup she made a few days ago, mmmm gooood. She went to Walmart for wings and to do some shopping. We will either go to Lorenzo's for dinner or call there for take-out depending on the TV schedule so we won't miss Survivor. Tomorrow we will drive to Pecos, TX, about 257 miles, then on Saturday to Abilene, TX, 246 miles, and finally to home on Sunday a final leg of 251 miles.

We are anxious to get home and see the lake full for the first time and get the boat moved to our boathouse. More from home with pictures of the boat in the boathouse. Be safe.
