Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Trees

Oops, forgot to add the tree pictures. These are both on the 17th hole. The first one is about 100 yards off the tee and the oldest one is about 200 yards from the green. Both quite pretty.

Elephant Rocks Golf Course at Williams, AZ

I played golf today on this wonderful golf course and Tippy visited the local Safeway store. The weather was great, vest sweater first several holes, and the course was beautiful and challenging. I played with a local guy, Gene, and we had a great time. He beat me quite handily, 76 - 91, but we enjoyed the day. Some of the holes are in the mountains, and were very tree lined, and some of the newer holes were across the road in a meadow area. It was a bit windy from time to time but all in all wind is something that has to be contended with in this area. Hope you enjoy the pics - we are off to Barstow, CA tomorrow and then we will see our friends Walt & Jeri on Thursday and Friday before heading north in California. Be safe.

Williams, Arizona

Howdy all. We have had two days of pretty windy driving to get from Santa Rosa, NM to Williams, Arizona. Today we drove from Gallup, NM to Williams and we started in the smoke from the fires in Arizona and ended with winds at 23 MPH with gusts to 46. We were passing one of those big wind mill blades when we got hit by a huge gust of wind. Fortunately the blade got buffeted at the same time as we were pushed a bit into his lane. We did get past him with no contact between us and continued on our way, although a bit shaken.

After four days of travel we are ready to rest for an extra day here tomorrow and get on our way to Barstow, CA on Wednesday. Tomorrow I will play golf at a course named Elephant Rocks which is supposed to be a fun course to play. Mike and Patty have played there before and they both recommend it. Hopefully the wind will die down a bit so I can enjoy the experience. More from California. Be safe.
