Stu & Tippy's Travels
This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Durango, Colorado
Boy we have been so busy I haven't had time to keep up with the Blog. As you can see from the pictures above we have been involved in many different activities and that doesn't even include eating and drinking. The weather has been supurb here in Durango and the scenery is spectacular as well. We will definitely return to this valley.
The only problem we have had is that Tippy is still having some muscle problems with her back and we had to see another doctor yesterday. She was given some new meds and will also take an Aleve morning and night to help with the inflamation.
Jerry Wooldridge and I played golf on Wednesday, June 22, and went fishing on Thursday with the same guide Mike and Patty used when we were in Bloomfield, NM. The golf course, Dalton Ranch, was quite good and the homes around the course and the course itself were all very beautiful. Jerry whopped me pretty good but I enjoyed the day in spite of losing a few dollars. We caught lots of fish and enjoyed some spectacular scenery as we floted the San Juan River below Navajo Lake. This is world class trout fishing on quality water. You must use barbless hooks and it was all catch, take a picture, and release. We both enjoyed the day and our time with Jerry the guide.
Jerry and Jackie left for Illinois on Friday and I took a glider ride that morning. The ride was spectacular and really quite smooth. Mike had taken a ride on Wednesday, when Jerry and I played golf, and it was real bumpy when he went in the afternoon. My pilot did a couple of maneuvers before landing. The first was going from level flight to straight up vertical and then turning over on the wing. We did this twice and then did a fly-by of the airport, about 2 feet off the ground, turned and came in for a perfect landing. The flight and the views were incredible and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
The six of us went to dinner at Ariana's in Durango on Wednesday evening and had a terrific Northern Italian meal. I had Veal Picatta which was to die for while Mike and Jerry had Linguini with clam sauce which was also excellent. Patty and Jackie had Chicken Marsala and Tippy had a shrimp pasta in a white cream sauce all of which were outstanding. You just wern't sure if you wanted to eat your own meal or sample the others.
Today, Saturday, Mike, Patty, and Tippy have gone to the Farmers Market to get some meat and other provisions while I stay at the coach doing the Blog. I believe we are grilling steaks tonight with Mike & Patty and Walt & Jerri, a couple we met that are parked next to Mike. We have met several terrific people here at the park and it has been very enjoyable sitting out and talking with folks as they walk about.
We have other friends, Brian & Julie Pate, arriving tomorrow so we have extended a day so we can spend some additional time with them. We will then depart for Monument Valley on the 28th of June. More later, enjoy the pictures and be safe.
