Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Summer Trip Time - Wasn't it just February?

Okay, you're right, I haven't been very regular with my posts lately and I apologize. I wish I could say we have been busy but that is not really the case. We have traveled a bit in Texas and a short trip to Hot Springs, AR this month for an Alfa Rally but even then we have plenty of time during the day wherever we are. So, in short, "No Excuse Sir!" I will try to do better but you know it helps when I get some feedback from readers letting me know you are tuning in and enjoying the trip descriptions and pictures. So please if you are reading this and want to read more please let me know and encourage me to continue.

Our coach is currently in Louisiana, at our friend Dick Albritton's home, getting some upgrades and a couple of fixes. We decided to get new carpet, after toying with the idea of switching to a hardwood floor, and we are having a new desk/computer center built that will replace the old computer cabinets, provide a place for the dining table to partially slide under when not in use, and several drawers, file drawers, and shelves. We will be increasing our storage, increasing our floor space, and hopefully improving the look of the coach. We also had a new and larger slide motor installed on our main slide out. The old motor, a 9 amp motor, was starting to stall when bringing in the slide and I was afraid it would burn out in a location where we couldn't get it readily fixed. The new motor is a 10 amp model and Dick says it will solve all of the problem. We also had an outside bay door latch replaced which broke just before we left for Hot Springs. We should be picking the coach up early or the middle of next week so we can get ready to depart for the summer on the 30th.

We will spend a few days in Grapevine playing golf and seeing the family. David resigned from his position recently which, on a positive note, will allow us to play golf one day while we are in town. I am also having the coach washed and waxed by our friend Eric and I will have the coach serviced by RV Mobile Lube which was recommended by my friend Walt. They come right to the park and will change the oil, filters, lubricate as necessary, and check our coolant. We should be more than ready for our trip when we leave.

So I will try to post on a more regular basis but don't forget to give me some feedback. You can send an e-mail or just leave a comment on the site. Be safe and if you are on our schedule for this summer we will be on the way shortly.
