Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

How do I do this now?

Don't worry, I'll take care of you

Final report before we leave next month.

As you can see below we had visitors last week and it was wonderful to see everyone. We had lots of activity including fishing, target shooting with BB pistols, swinging, resting on the hammock, video games, Wii games, and eating. All of this in a 24 hour period.

On Wednesday I was working in the shop and saw the mother deer walk by heading to the place where the fawn was staying. It struck me that maybe she was coming to take the fawn home because she usually came in the evening to feed the baby and stay with it during the night. Tippy and I watched her walk by and then went back about our business. It wasn't 30 minutes later that I saw her again from the shop and this time she had the fawn with her! I went to get my camera and Tippy and we were able to enjoy the mother taking acre of her baby and watching them run off to their real home. As you can see from the pictures she was taking good care of her baby as they made there way along the lakeshore. This was a real "feel good" moment for both of us.

We will be off for our summer trip two weeks from today, or maybe even sooner as I have to do a Golf Digest visit in Gunter, TX and also one in Wichita Falls, TX before the end of August. We had planned to stay two nights in Wichita Falls as out first stop so that course wasn't a problem. The course in Gunter, The Bridges Golf Club, is north of Dallas and kind of on the way to Wichita Falls. If we can work out the details we may leave a day early, Friday. play The Bridges on Saturday morning and then drive to Wichita Falls and play The Champions Course at Weeks park on Sunday before we head to Clovis, NM for our next stop.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Stay tuned as we will try to report more frequently as we head north and west. Be safe.

A May visit from David and his family.

David, rachel, Cole, and Maryn came to see us for a couple of days last weekend. They wanted to be back home for church on Sunday so they came in time for dinner on Friday and stayed through dinner on Saturday. the kids were in their PJ's for the ride home. We had a great time, although short. The weather wasn't real great with lots of wind and some rain so we weren't able to use the boat but we were able to fish from the boathouse. Both of the kids caught fish - some Sandies and some catfish.

On Saturday we walked down the street to see a young fawn that was born in the neighborhood. A deer seems to like having her baby in our neighborhood and has done so every spring that we have lived here. We were able to see the fawn, watched in run around the yard a little and then run back to its spot as we started to walk home. We were able to get a couple of pictures of the kids and one of the fawn while on our walk as you can see below.
