Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

A friendly Deer at The Wilderness Club

A few shots from Indian Springs

A few shots from The Wilderness

Eureka, Montana

We had a wonderful drive from Coeur d'Alene to Eureka. We drove north on highway 95 to Bonner's Ferry and then took highway 2 east to Libby, Montana. From Libby we took highway 37 north and east to Eureka. This road runs along side of the Kootinae River until you reach the Libby Dam and then the river becomes the Koocanusa Lake which goes all the way into Canada. The drive along the water was spectacular! Sometimes you were right at the water level and then other times way above looking down. The land around the lake is apparently all federal/state land so there are no homes and only a few National Recreation areas for boat launching and some camping. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!

I have played golf while in Eureka at the Indian Springs Ranch G.C. and at The Wilderness Club. Jay Burke, a friend from Texas, came up from Polson and we played at Indian Springs on Monday afternoon but got rained out after teeing off on the fourth hole. Jay and I were joined by my friend Carl henry, from Big Fork, MT, and his friend Vince for a round at The Wilderness Club today. This is a Nick Faldo Design and has been private until being reposed by the bank last year. It is now open to the public and should continue to be so for the near future. I started out with a birdie on the first hole and should have quit then as my play dropped considerable after that. I did make one other birdie and a few pars but two seven x's led to a smooth 85.

I will post a few pictures from each course so you can get an idea of the quality. Enjoy and be safe.
