Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Safely in Surprise

We arrived safely in Surprise, Arizona on Sunday and it is now Easter Sunday, one week later. Where does the time go? We have enjoyed our time here visiting with Mike and Patty and enjoying the wonderful warm and dry air.

I played golf three times so far with Mike and we will probably play at least one more time this week. Mike and Patty move onto their new lot on Tuesday and will even be allowed to move some things on Monday. We went to Nadene and Dini’s home yesterday, friends of Karen and Sue, and enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, good food, and watched the Master’s Tournament. Today we are going to the Ranch for the afternoon and evening dinner: tri-tips that Patty will cook on the grill. Mmmmmm good!

We will help them move on Monday and Tuesday and play in a golf tournament on Tuesday afternoon with folks from the area where Mike and Patty will be living. Mike and I may play golf again on Thursday before we head for Mesa on Friday.

This place, Happy Trails RV Resort, is quite a large facility with activities too numerous to mention. Mike and Patty don’t feel that they will get bored here but if they do it is their own fault. It seems that every owner has a golf cart and that is about all you see driving around the complex.

A popular game here is called Pickle Ball. The game is played with a wooden paddle, about twice the size of a ping pong paddle, and a waffle ball that is about three inches in diameter. The rules seem to be like tennis in that you can hit the ball in the air or after one bounce. I don’t know how the game is scored but it does look like fun.

We don’t have Internet available here, at least not consistently. There is an owner that has a site that I can connect with but he has started to turn it off if he sees me parked in the street. I guess he thinks I will steal information from him or something. I will send this from the Ranch this afternoon and get caught up on e-mail as well.

More from Mesa later in the week so be safe until then.
