Stu & Tippy's Travels
This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

New House
We have found our new home!!! It is located in the town of Streetman, TX, population 207, and is on the southern part of the Richland Chambers Reservoir. The remoteness is the only negative and we are really looking at that as a positive since the area is so nice and the property is right on the lake. The lot is one half acre and is pretty regular. We are having a survey done so we will know the exact dimensions.
The home is located in Rustling Oaks Estates off of CR 2350 in Navarro County. It is reasonably close to I-45, about 7-8 miles, and that gives us access to anywhere we want to go. All of the roads are paved although CR 2350 is somewhat bumpy. The home is 2300 sq. ft. with three bedrooms and three baths. The kitchen is large and partially open to the living room and the living room connects on one side to a room with a wall of book cases and a fireplace and on the other side to a room with another wall of book cases. The room with the fireplace will become our library/reading room and the other room will be the computer room. All of these rooms face the lake and have great views of the water and the yard. The master bedroom is pretty big and also faces the water. The water side of the home has a sunroom that runs the entire length of the house. It is carpeted and has its own window AC and heater. We’re not sure what we will do with this area so probably nothing for a while.
The other two bedrooms are in the front of the house and they share a hallway bathroom. There is a two car attached garage with lots of storage shelves and a small room at the front right of the garage that can be used for storage or as a workroom. The utility room is between the garage and the kitchen and is equipped with a washer and dryer, bathroom with a shower, and a space for a stand-up freezer or second refrigerator. The kitchen cabinets are well made and make good use of the space. The refrigerator, dish washer, cook-top, stove, and microwave all stay and most are pretty new.
There is a storage shed partially hidden in a grove of trees in the backyard that is large enough for any and all of the yard equipment I will need, including a riding lawn mower, which I will need to buy. There is a nice boat house on the water with one slip and a 10X20 deck area that will be nice to use to watch the sunsets. The slip has an electric winch so it will be easy to keep the boat out of the water when not in use. There is also a small storage room with a sink with running lake water between the slip and deck area. The entire boat house was new two years ago so all of the wood is good and it is very stable.
I will post a few pictures today and more later. We are currently in staying in a nice RV Park in Tyler doing some shopping for furniture, TV’s, telephones, and boats. We will drive to the house this afternoon to meet a guy that will inspect the house and all of the systems. We will measure each room and get some more pictures while we are there. More information later so be safe until then.
