Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Merry Christmas

We hope all of our good friends have had a very Merry Christmas and we wish you all the best in 2009. Tippy continues to improve here at home and is very diligent with her exercises. It took some doing, and a threat to call my attorney son, but our insurance company is now providing in home PT care two days a week. The PT therapist has really helped in just two short visits. She has Tippy doing her exercises properly and walking with a normal gait, of course by using her walker with assistance from her arms. We have high hopes that Tippy will graduate to a cane for assistance in a few weeks. We make a trip to Tyler to see the surgeon next week. Hopefully he will give her a clean bill of health and say everything is okay.

We have canceled out trip to the Florida Keys, and elsewhere between here and there. Hopefully we can do that trip some other time. We are still planning on attending our Alfa Rally in Canton, Texas the last weekend of January. They have a giant swap meet there on the weekend prior to the first Monday of each month. Tippy probably won't be doing much walking at the swap meet but at least she will see her friends at the rally and be able to share companionship with them.

If you can imagine I am learning to cook, clean, and to do laundry. I am Tippy's sou chef in the kitchen and she is very good at ordering me around! I have done the laundry a couple of times and will do some dusting today. Our neighbors have been wonderful about taking care of us by bringing food, soups, sweet stuff, and anything else we need. Our good friend Kay was here yesterday to pick up a box I made for her grand daughter and she was talking to me about bringing a turkey dinner down for us. I told her that we had plenty and was thanking her for the thought when Tippy shouted out, " You aren't turning down a turkey dinner are you?" So, Kay brought down Tippy's favorite meal later in the day and we enjoyed half of it that evening. Other neighbors have brought down breads, cakes, a Shepherds Pie, and two different trays of homemade sweets.

We hope the rest of your 2008 is safe and happy. Be safe.
