We have enjoyed our first week on the road even wit a few days of rain. The skies cleared on Sunday and I was able to play golf on Sunday afternoon and again on Monday. I played at the Bentwater Golf & Yacht Club. They have three courses, a Weiskopf course, a Scott Miller course, and their Grand Pines course. My friend Jay isn't a member of Grand Pines so we played the Miller and Weiskopf courses and had a good time each day. I don't know who designed the Grand Pines course but it is apparently a pretty nice facility and golf experience, at $50K to join it should be.

We had a nice drive down last Wednesday and had dinner at our friends Jim and Mary Jane Burke's wonderful home. Mary Jane is a collector and the entire home seems to be her display area. Every room, hallway, and even the bathrooms are home to various parts of her collections. We had a great time seeing it all but not near as much as Mary Jane had in showing it to us. She loves her collecting and goes to yard sales, antique shops, garage sales, and anywhere else she might find a bargain. Mary Jane fixed us a wonderful dinner after we had a chance to chat a bit and for me to see Jay's workshop. He makes bird houses, one of which will go home with us, and some small furniture pieces. We met Jay & Mary Jane in Great Falls, MT two years ago and arranged to see them in Poulson, MT last summer.

Well we are off to Stonewall, Texas tomorrow for our Alfa Rally. The weather looks to be good so some golf should be on the agenda as ell as socializing, eating, and renewing old friendships. Stonewall is just a short distance from Fredericksburg so I am sure we will get over there for dinner and/or lunch at least once. More later from Stonewall. Be safe.
