Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Another antelope in Bryce Canyon Posted by Picasa

Bryce Canyon

We had a very enjoyable three days at Bryce Canyon. Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground was very comfortable and close to everything. They also have a lodge and numerous restaurants. Tippy, Alex, and I enjoyed two trips into the park and were amazed everytime we got out of the car to view a vista. The sights were extraordinary and simply breathtaking! I have posted several pictures but they are only the tip of the iceberg. Every angle you looked produced another picture opportunity.

We saw many critters in the park. Two herds of antelope the first day, several deer, and a few single antelope right near the road. The weather cooperated with just a little rain, boy did that smell good in the pines! Tippy and I drove into Panguitch one day to look around and get a few things at the market and drug store.

One afternoon Mike and I drove 30 miles to a golf course and RV park a few miles from Hatch, UT. Mike had seen it on a previous trip and he wanted me to see it as well. The course looked pretty good and we planned to return the next day to play but we changed our minds. They also had RV lots for sale and rent but it looked pretty dismal. There was a grass runway for small airplanes but it looked pretty rough as well but I am sure it would have been okay for an experienced pilot. There was only one person staying with an RV and he was helping the guy at the golf course. The owner was killed in a plane crash on the property several month back so the future of the property is currently up in the air.

We left Bryce Canyon and drove to Richfield, Utah on July 8th. We stayed there two nights, played golf one day, and went to dinner one evening. We had great spots at the RV park with nice shade and lots of grass. We had steaks out at Steve's Steakhouse and everyone had a great meal that was perfectly cooked. Tippy made Lasagne for Sunday evening and we all ate as much as we could. We played golf on Sunday at the Cave View G.C. and had a great time. There was no one in front of us and no one behind us. We played in three hours with a lengthy snack break between nines. On Monday we drove to Ely, Nevada and it was good to get back into the state. I played golf today, Tuesday, with Mike & Patty and Rick & Carla Knoop, friends from Henderson. Tippy and I are going out to dinner this evening to celebrate our 31st anniversary. Enjoy the pictures and be safe.
