Stu & Tippy's Travels

This Blog will be used to document the travels of Stuart and Tippy Reid as we travel this beautiful country in our motorhome. We will hopefully be able to share our experiences in words and pictures and allow our friends and family to enjoy them with us.

Spokane RV Resort and the Deer Park Golf Club in Washington

We had a great drive from Richland, Washington to Spokane, Washington and then a terrible drive north on U.S.395 through Spokane to get to Deer Park. Fifteen miles of stop and go traffic and traffic lights, not fun in a motorhome. We then found out a better way that avoids 98% of that traffic and we sure used it when we left.
Once we got there we were very happy with the RV Resort and the golf course. I played three times while we were there and even practiced a couple of times as well. My new Titleist irons were delivered to me at Deer Park and I just love them! I now have a complete new set of clubs, which includes the driver I bought last summer, so I should be in good shape with the newer technology. My irons are the ADP 2 model which is a blade design with a small cavity back. They look really good when I address the ball so I have lots of confidence.

We had a nice drive again when we left Deer Park for Polson, Montana. Our route out of the Spokane area took us about 6 miles east of U.S. 395 so the traffic was minimal until we had a train adding cars about 2 miles from our intersection with I-90. We had to wait for about ten minutes and were then on our way. We drove about 90 miles on I-90, through Idaho and into Montana, before stopping at a rest area. We walked Alex, had lunch, and rested a bit before heading out on the second leg of our journey for the day. We left I-90 at St Regis, exit 33, and took Montana 135 north to Montana 200. We followed Montana 200 east to U.S. 93 which took us into Polson. 135 and 200 both follow the Clark Fork river so we had wonderful views and light traffic until we got to U.S. 93.

We have a lovely spot here at the Eagle Nest RV Resort in Polson. We will be here for three weeks playing golf, relaxing, seeing friends, and simply hanging out. I played golf today with a friend I met in Great Falls last summer and two other guys that are staying in the Resort. We got a little wet on the back nine but were able to finish before the big rains arrived. The temperatures stayed in the high 50's today so the rain pants stayed on all day as well as a golf shirt and long sleeve cover up.

Tippy and I attended a Happy Hour with a small group from the park last night so we got to meet some folks. They apparently get together every evening from 4:30 to 5:30 with a beverage, snacks, and some conversation. We will go back another evening as the folks all seemed very nice. Tippy drove around town a bit today and found a few restaurants and some other spots she will return to when she has more time. I watched the recording of round three of the PGA Championship this afternoon and sure hope Tiger can get it done tomorrow. I will watch the recording after my friend Jay and I play nine holes on the old course tomorrow afternoon. Enjoy thje pics from washington, more from Montana later. Be safe.
